Meet the toughest lavender in our fields. Phenomenal is the variety we recommend to gardeners who've lost lavender plants before β€” it shrugs off humid summers, harsh winters, and the root rot and foliar diseases that take down other varieties. Our starter plants are grown right here on our small family farm in Sequim, WA β€” the Lavender Capital of North America β€” and shipped fresh in 4" pots, ready to transplant into your garden, patio, or pollinator border.

Why Phenomenal?

  • Cold-hardy down to USDA Zone 5 β€” one of the hardiest lavenders available, bred to survive winters that kill most varieties.
  • Disease and humidity resistant β€” exceptional tolerance to root rot and foliar diseases, making it a top pick for the South, Midwest, and East Coast where lavender often struggles.
  • Big, vigorous plants β€” mature size 24–36" tall and 30–36" wide with classic silver-gray foliage and tall, fragrant violet-blue flower spikes.
  • Long bloom, strong fragrance β€” a Lavandin (French hybrid) like Grosso, prized for high oil content and bold lavender aroma. Excellent for sachets, bundles, dried bouquets, and essential oil distillation.
  • Pollinator magnet β€” bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds love it.

Shipping & care

Plants ship in their 4" pots, carefully packed to arrive healthy. We ship Monday–Wednesday to keep plants out of weekend transit. When your plants arrive, unbox them right away, give them a drink, and let them adjust outdoors in a shaded spot for a day or two before transplanting. Plant in full sun with well-drained soil β€” Phenomenal prefers lean soil over rich, and once established it's wonderfully low-maintenance.

From our family to your garden

Meli's Lavender has been growing lavender in Sequim since 2015. Every plant we ship is one we'd plant in our own garden β€” that's our promise to you. Questions about your soil, climate, or how to plan a lavender bed? Just message us, we'd love to help.
