Folgate (English Lavender) — The Color Star

Folgate (Lavandula angustifolia) is known for its rich, dark purple buds and tidy, compact form. It's an early bloomer, which makes it a favorite for gardeners who want lavender color in their beds before the summer-blooming varieties take over. The fragrance is soft and gentle rather than strong — the trade-off for those gorgeous deep buds. It's the variety we use for many of our wreaths.

Plant specs:

• Mature size: 18"–24" wide, 16"–20" tall
